JMA-5300 Series
Marine Radar
The JMA-5300 series represents a major advance in radar technology. The newly developed processing sys-
tem gives users a range of new features not previously found on this class of radar.
Chart information can be combined with the radar image to present a complete overview of activity around
the vessel. The radar image is combined with information from electronic charts. Own and other ship's
tracks and AIS targets can be plotted and waypoints entered.
This system is composed of the following components:
Display - 18.1 inch Color LCD display, 250mm - (12 inch effective)

Target Enhancement
Developed exclusively by JRC, TEF™ allows target enhancement relative to the target size. The smaller ech-
oes are far more enlarged than bigger echoes, giving a better on-screen separation and identification. TEF™
works by adding pixels to targets displayed on the radar image and allows a vastly improved degree of dis-
crimination between targets. Sophisticated processing results in a proportional enhancement, where the rela-
tive enhancement of smaller targets are greater than applied to larger targets.
Flexible black box configuration
The processor unit is the heart of the JMA-5200Mk2, and shares the same simple configuration as its prede-
cessor, contributing to an enhanced system configuration. Optional TT (Target Tracking) function module
with up to 30 targets, and or AIS interface, plotter control unit can be built in.
This system is composed of the following components:
